More than 10 million people in the United States suffer from psoriasis, vitiligo, and other skin conditions which are treatable with phototherapy. When topical treatments are inappropriate for a patient or lose effectiveness after prolonged use, phototherapy can provide patients relief in more than 80% of the cases. Without the side effects and risks associated with biological alternatives, not only can phototherapy be a safer alternative to drugs but also a much more costeffective treatment.
Given the benefits of phototherapy, many patients still do not get the relief they need. Though phototherapy is an effective treatment, many patients are unable to commit the time necessary to receive in-office therapy several times per week for several weeks or months. Rural patients may live too far from a phototherapy facility to be practical for them. For these people, only home-based treatment may offer them the relief they deserve while fitting the treatments into their busy lives.
Until now, home phototherapy has not been broadly accepted in the United States. With every phototherapy system prescribed for home treatment comes the risk of patient misuse – a liability to which you certainly do not want to be exposed. With inoffice treatments, you are in complete control of your patient's phototherapy session to ensure appropriate usage. In a patient's home, you don't have a firm control of the treatment session or operation of the system… until now!
Building upon more than 35 years of experience delivering clinical phototherapy systems to leading hospitals, doctors, and medical colleges, Ultralite integrates its phototherapy expertise with a revolutionary new control technology bringing you the Ultralite Prescription Home Phototherapy System - the first and only phototherapy system that gives doctors complete control over a home patient's treatment.
Full control of the Ultralite Prescription Home Phototherapy System begins in the doctor's office with our revolutionary ScriptPad digital prescription pad to let you write your patients' prescriptions. As a PC-based application, ScriptPad easily integrates into your existing office environment to pre-scribe the treatment protocol that's best for the patient. When writing the prescription, you have complete control to define the treatment's dosage, frequency of treatments, number of treatments until the patient should return to the office for a check-up, when each treatment should expire if unused, and many other aspects to the patient's proper care. Access to administer digital prescriptions requires a valid fingerprint scan of an authorized doctor or medical assistant - without proper authorization, no prescriptions can be written.
The Ultralite Prescription Home Phototherapy System offers its own security guard to enforce proper system usage once it's in your patient's hands. Using sophisticated security controls, the system will not operate unless an valid, doctor-authorized, digi-tally-encrypted prescription is loaded. Once installed, the system will only operate in adherence to the prescribed treatment pro-tocol and doctor-defined operating profile. To prevent unauthorized use, the prescription control system requires a valid finger-print scan by the patient for each use. Based on the conditions prescribed by the ScriptPad digital prescription, the system will also deny operation if the patient misses a treatment session.
With the Ultralite Prescription Home Phototherapy System, every doctor can prescribe the same protocols that are used by the foremost dermatological experts in the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, and other photo-responsive skin conditions. When pre-scribing a phototherapy treatment, you can choose from the leading experts' protocols, alter protocols to your patient's specific needs, or define your own unique protocol. And, as you uncover new protocols that work well and may benefit other doctors, you can share them with the Ultralite community, too.
